I've never been here BUT, anyone who gives a bad review on a greek salad and says "There was no lettuce! I never had a Greek salad with cucumbers and peppers". WHAT? Don't leave a review if you don't know what you're talking about. Google Greek Salad ingredients and then update your review so you don't sound stupid.
They do a great job of giving you a taste of real Greek food done authentically at a very reasonable price. I am Greek and took my family there along with other friends, and the experience was always very pleasant, and the food was great! I highly recommend anyone who likes Greek food to try this place. This place is a true HIDDEN GEM. The food is so yummy! They have vegan options, and their shrimp and desserts are FANTASTIC. The people who work there are super nice and the food is prepared in a timely manner. If you are craving authentic and delicious Greek food, I would HIGHLY recommend FireStix.
This unassuming storefront in Haskell/Wanaque belies a hidden gem of a restaurant serving Greek and Mediterranean pita sandwiches, souvlaki (skewers), and other delicacies. Our beef-lamb gyro sandwich is delicious, and has fries wrapped inside the fluffy pita (which is common practice in Greece, though I personally prefer my fries on the side and you can certainly ask for that). There's also an extra large version, the pita max. The chicken firestik platter is huge and comes with a heap of grilled chicken that's definitely more than I can consume in one sitting. While the flavor is not especially distinctive, the chicken is cleanly seasoned, cooked well, and salted just right. The eggplant appetizer and Greek salad are good too. Everything is fresh and filling, and the homemade tzatziki sauce is nice and thick. Vegan options are available. They were doing mostly takeout orders but should you want to eat in, the space is clean and bright with half a dozen tables of various sizes. There are a few parking spots in the front and more in the back. Firestix is a wonderful and welcomed addition to the area - both good and authentic!
